Friends Session We had so much fun with these ladies once again! We played, laughed and got a little creative with some willows tree branches. Glam Themed | Tower Grove Park A preview of Tiffany and Cody' s wedding at Birds of a Feather-Barn Venue in Troy, Missouri. These two met by matching on two different online dating sites! For their first date, Tiffany and Cody went to a bar, Maggie Malone's, but it was too loud. So, they went elsewhere to play pool and drink and ended up staying until closing time! The proposal day happened at Defiance Ridge Winery. Tiffany and Cody and their dog Busch were enjoying the lake at the winery. Cody told Tiffany to read the tags on Busch’s collar. One tag said “love you bunches” the other one said “will you marry me?" When I asked what would be the "mixed tape" of the relationship, they picked just one song, This Kiss by Faith Hill. We love when everything is at one venue! Birds of a Feather was the perfect backdrop for Tiffany and Cody‘s wedding day! The day started off a little, rainy and windy. Luckily, it cleared up just in time so we could take Tiffany’s gorgeous dress outside and get some pictures! Then, Tiffany and Cody did a first look, it was so sweet and such a special moment for them. With Tiffany and Cody‘s ceremony being in the evening we usually recommend doing a first look before. It's a great way to get a lot of photos completed before the ceremony! Tiffany and Cody had an outdoor ceremony where they were recited their own vows. Another beautiful, super sweet moment between these two. I think everybody was in tears. Next, the Citygarden for more detailed photos. It was a hot July day so we did our best to move fast and I keep everybody in shade! 🥵
Lastly, before our final destination, Orlando's South, we went to Grants Lodge where Lizzy and John and their families would be spending the night.
Check out their iconic deer antler, chandelier and big moose head above the fireplace.

We loved this cute little barn with giant willow tree in front! As well as all the surrounding buildings/houses and the greenhouse at this park.
It was a very hot summer day but thankfully we had plenty of shade!

Kelly and Kate had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in front of the barn, surrounded by their family and close friends. They even had their dog Nash there as well! There were plenty of tears and lots of laughter throughout the ceremony, especially during their personal vows.
After a short and sweet ceremony, we did a few formal’s with everybody. Even Nash got his "five minutes of fame" when he got his own piece of rainbow cake to enjoy. It was so cute!
Although we only spent a couple of hours with Kelly and Kate we really felt the love and devotion between these two.
We loved getting to know these two and had a wonderful time photographing their wedding!

A preview of Kayla and Lauren‘s wedding at Falls Reception & Conference in Columbia, Illinois.
We are always excited to come back to The Falls! This is such a lovely venue to work at! They have the most unique and beautiful waterfalls inside where the koi fish live and outside where the ceremony takes place.
It was a very hot summer day that turned cool into the evening just in time for their evening ceremony. Kayla and Lauren‘s day was filled with family, friends, love and lots and lots of laughter.

Kayla and Lauren got ready together in the same room so they were not concerned about the first look so we were able to get a lot of pictures done before the ceremony even started. Which was a good thing with the ceremony and reception basically back to back with very little time in-between for formal photos.
The ceremony was beautiful and we loved the unity ceremony, they opted for a sand ceremony. On the glass jar they poured the sand into was the saying "Better Together" and the date. Kayla's Aunt Beth did a wonderful job at the officiant as well and looked awesome in her Stevie Nicks style hat and dress.
We loved getting to know these two and had a wonderful time photographing and filming their wedding!

We are always excited to come back to SHSC! This is such a lovely venue to work at! They have the most unique and beautiful "getting ready houses" for both sides of the wedding party.

It was a very sunny summer day but simply perfect! From the all the sweet little details, to Ellen's amazing dress and we loved the "reception entrance vehicle", a 3 wheel bicycle with a just married sign on the front that even lit up.
After some getting ready photos and video and separate photos with each side of the wedding party, it was time for the ceremony.

Nathan and Ellen had an short evening ceremony in front of the reception building. It was such a beautiful moment, watching Ellen being escorted in by her two brothers.
Then after more photos and video of family and couple portraits, everybody was ready for dinner and dancing.
This group did not disappoint! After an incredible entrance on the three wheel bike by the couple and some really well done speeches/toasts. It was time for dancing!
Ellen and Nathan opted for a fog machine/dry ice machine, during their first dance. This made for an incredible affect where are the fog only stayed on the ground by their feet throughout the dance.

After general dancing started, we snuck the couple outside for a few sunset photos, before it disappeared to end our night.

It was a chilly, breezy, and bright spring day when we met Lucas, his parents and his girlfriend at the Lewis and Clark Boathouse for his senior portrait session.
I have known Lucas’s parents since I was a little kid. So it was so much fun getting to see everyone again and catch up!
Lucas and his mom expressed a strong interest in train tracks for the session so we thought the Saint Charles train tracks will be the perfect place to photograph his photos.
We had a great time, getting to know Lucas and photographing his session! We were excited to learn that Lucas will be going on to operating his own train someday in the future!

A preview of Nicole and Justin’s a.k.a Nikki and Bud's wedding.
These two were so much fun to be around! Nikki and Bud are such kind and wonderful people and are welcoming to everyone they meet.
Nikki and Bud met at a karaoke bar which is actually unusual for them. They are both are kind of homebodies and usually never go out. So, it was "written in the galaxy" as these two like to say.
For their first date, they went to the drag races. Even though it ended up raining the whole day 😢 which kind of made it hard to watch any races 😂 They ended up being able to talk the whole day, and really got to know each other!
On 2/22/22 at 2:22 PM on Twosday, Bud proposed to Nikki the cute and quaint town of Kimmswick, MO.

We started the day with getting shots but since the ceremony wasn’t until the evening, they wanted us try to get as many formals as possibly before the ceremony.
The other tricky thing, they did not want to see each other before. So, we definitely had our work cut out for us and did have to photograph many formals in evening light.
Nikki and Bud did a "first touch" instead where they held hands around a door frame so they could still not see each other.
Before that though.... A first look with dad.
They had a short and sweet ceremony that pretty much led right into the reception.
At the reception during the father, daughter dance, what started as a traditional dance soon turned into a wacky mix of pop songs, country songs, and various other genres! It was hysterical, and they had everybody in stitches!

A preview of Brittany and Joe Burian's November wedding.
Brittany and Joe met on the Facebook dating site. For the first date, they went on a walk at Quail Ridge Park in Wentzville.
Joe proposed in Florida at Discovery Cove during a dolphin swim! Marea, a dolphin there, swim over with a little white boat bout, that said “Brittany, will you marry me? Brittany said "yes!", and finally noticed that her parents and brother were in disguise in the beach area.😂
Joe and Brittany have a hard time describing each other and just one word. There were a couple words that we noticed repeated themselves that the both used to describe each other, such as patient, loving, and goofy and a beautiful smile. Perfect words to describe these two!

We started the day with getting ready at the two separate hotels. Then we all headed to the zoo for multiple first looks with Brittany's Dad, brother, uncle and finally her groom.
Brittany's dress was amazing! It was a Mia Grace - Disney Fairy Tale Wedding Allure Collection – Cinderella 2022. Complete with long cathedral vail, furry shawl, and long elegant gloves.
We highly recommend doing a first look before the ceremony to help settle any nerves you might have. This can also be helpful if you don’t have much time in between the ceremony and reception to get formal pictures finished.

They had a traditional Catholic ceremony at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
After the ceremony we went to forest park for more photos but the wind had picked up and it was even colder then earlier. Everyone toughed it out for a few photos but then Brittany called it and they piled into the warm bus and went on to the reception.

The reception was at LIUNA in the Sunset Hills area.
The hall was decorated in all of Brittany and Joe's favorite things! Each table had a unique and handmade centerpiece that showed a small window into the couples lives, displaying their many hobby and interests. These two have SO MANY hobbies, interest and TV shows/movies and things that they love. Harry Potter, Star Wars, Disney, Stranger Things, Animals (Brittany has three horses and a snake), and Aquariums.

These two met through mutual friends in high school. Thier first date was at Panera Bread, to do their homework, ended up sharing a strawberry banana smoothie🥤, super cute!
After that they say "there’s hardly been a day they’ve been apart since!"

On their anniversary weekend, they took a walk around a scenic cliff top at Stevens Lake. During this time Rowan their friends setting up the gazebo with decor and their doggy, Sadie.
When it was time, Rowan walked Bria across the bridge towards the decor, there were two huge golden rings were hanging from the roof.
Their dog, Sadie, had the ring box around her neck, approached from the other side. Rowan said "I'm incredibly sure I never want to be without you. Please be my wife so we can take on this life together."

These two are perfect for each other and used words like caring, passionate, kind and understanding to describe each other. We couldn't agree more and we're fortunate enough to witness throughout their wedding day!

These two say their favorite show they can't miss is Gray's Anatomy. 9-year-old, Collie Lab, Sadie is also a big part of their lives.
Bria and Rowan say their typical date style is sushi and nighttime strolls near the water and love to hang out listening to music and watching comedies together.
They also both enjoy tennis, reading, swimming and strategy games.

They had a rustic/elegant wedding Haue Valley in Pacific Missouri, in their outside area set up area for ceremonies.
The entrance to the ceremony space is two sliding wooden doors that can be open and closed with vines all around the outside.

After the ceremony we piled into "golf carts" /A.T.V's and took pictures at various locations on their property.

The reception was also at Haue Valley.
Bria and Rowan had a choreograph first dance. It was incredible! Everybody loved it and were filmed with their phones and whatnot. We loved their expression at the end when they knew they accomplished it and did a perfect job!

We started the day at the Gardens at SIUE in Edwardsville for wedding party and bride/groom portraits. We love starting the day like this! These are usually favorite photos to take on the wedding day!

We then headed to Knights of Columbus-Granitic City for the ceremony and reception.
Aleeza and James's crew decorated the venue for the couple, and they did a fantastic job! They transformed to room into a beautiful space. It looked like we were in an "enchanted forest"

A preview of Rebecca and Nathan ‘s wedding in Silex, Missouri at Saddle Ridge Farm.
These two met at work and went to Dos Primos for their first date.
Rebecca was reading to her son when Nathan proposed.
They have two children and say their favorite way to spend time together is kid free with dinner and a movie.

These two both have silly personalities and loving hearts and are simply perfect for each other! We were fortunate enough to witness this during their engagement session and throughout the wedding day!
They had an outdoor wedding at a small private vineyard. Conveniently, it's right next to Rebecca's family farm, Saddle Ridge Farm.

It was one of the most amazing processionals we’ve ever seen! Bridesmaids were brought in on a horse and carriage. Rebecca rode on her one of her horses, for the bridal processional, escorted by her dad leading the horse.
She looked like a princess!

It was incredibly hot sunny August summer day! Rebecca was perfectly shaded at the ceremony, but unfortunately Nathan had full sun on his face! They both handled it like champs and giggled throughout the ceremony even as their son wandered around in front of them.
After some family formals, and some pictures with the wedding party, we were all ready to head into some air-conditioning!
The reception was at High Point Ridge in Silex, Missouri. It was very important to the couple to have all the vendors be local. Such a great way to showcase some of these smaller towns/companies.
Suddenly, after a super-hot day, it started to rain which only lasted for a few minutes, and a rainbow popped out. We got Rebecca and Nathan to agree to pop outside for one more picture.
Probably one of the most emotional parts of the whole day was watching dad dance with his two daughters. Such a wonderful and tender moment.
We loved getting to know these two and had a wonderful time photographing and filling their wedding!

Life with a toddler can be non-stop. Your little one is on the move and into absolutely everything.
You’re so proud to see them grow, you’re looking forward to a time when it’s not quite so exhausting, but it’s also bittersweet. Your little one isn’t a baby anymore and part of you wants to press the pause button and keep them this little for longer.
But whilst it’s so important to capture this time and preserve our memories, having a photo shoot with a toddler can be a little more challenging than at other ages.
Once they’re on the move many toddlers have a natural preference for exploring and investigating their surroundings over sitting or standing in one place for a photograph!
So how can you make sure that your photo shoot is relaxed and enjoyable?
A lot of it comes down to planning.
In this article, I’ll share my top five my dos and don’ts for a relaxed photo shoot with your toddler.

Do: Plan Your Shoot for A Time When Your Toddler Will Be Well Fed and Well Rested
Preparing for a relaxed photo shoot starts before you book it.
If you have a baby, toddler or young child it’s really important to consider when they are at their best during the day. For most children, this is when they’re well fed and well rested.
Generally speaking, this is when children are at their happiest and most cooperative and scheduling your shoot for just after a nap and a meal or snack will make for a happier, more relaxed shoot.

Don’t: Feed Your Toddler During the Photo Shoot
If you’re anything like me, you definitely don’t want anyone to take your photograph whilst you have food in your mouth. It’s rare for anyone to look good in a photograph when they’re eating – even cute toddlers!
But when they’re in the middle of a photo shoot and their toddler isn’t cooperating, many parents reach for the snacks. This is totally understandable. Most young children are calm and cooperative when they have food.
But it doesn’t make for great photographs. And when you’re investing in professional photographs of your children you don’t want them to be making funny chewing faces in your family photographs.
Instead, I recommend making sure your toddler is well fed before the shoot, and then keeping food out of sight until afterwards.

They had an a full catholic ceremony at the beautiful Scared Heart Catholic Church in Troy, MO. Omar has two children and that were included in the ceremony as well and we're also baptized during the ceremony. They also did several other unique ceremonial things during the ceremony like the "braided cord" for example.

After the ceremony and family formals, we headed to the reception venue, Birds of a Feather in Troy, Missouri. They have lots of unique spots for pictures! We especially liked the old wagon and barn doors of the venue.

We met Ellen and Nathan at Nathan ‘s bicycle shop in Creve Coeur. The Wheelhouse Bicycle is where these two met for the first time. So, it was a perfect place to start their engagement session at.

We opted for a shady spot near the beach at Creve Couer Park for our "second location" so we can do both beach pictures and woody pictures as well. We had a whole crew with us, Ellen, Nathan, both of their moms, their new puppy, and Rob and me.
These two were dying to show us the "dirty dancing lift" that they have been working on for quite some time. We suggested the beach for a in case softer landing. The sun decided to pop out right at that moment and blasted our whole situation😫
